One-Hundred Years Ago as Today: The Ferry Building Was the Epicenter of Transportation in San Francisco
At this Embarcadero hub, travelers poured off ferries and onto streetcars and cable cars. As early as April 1914, the Ferry Building was actively growing anticipation for the World’s Fair with an illuminated “1915” sign enticing those who saw it to think forward to the excitement of the coming year.
