For Many Years the Marina Remained Surprisingly Undeveloped After the Fair Had Come and Gone
This view is Marina Boulevard and Fillmore Street looking south towards Pacific Heights, long after the fair has faded into memory. In this photograph, the old fair grounds have clearly gone to seed: sandy, strewn with rubble and overgrown with weedy grasses. The land was not divided and sold as residential lots until 1924.
